Dear friends of Ukraine and Ukrainian journalists,
We, the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine (NUJU), express our highest gratitude for being along with us in the hardest days of this year.
This year has been incredibly difficult and tragic, not only for the Ukrainians. The large-scale war in Ukraine has made every resident of our planet look at their life at a different angle. Standards, mindsets, illusions, and, unfortunately, lives have been broken.
During this year of great challenges, every single one of us had to make a choice whether to protect the goodness, freedom, right to express ideas, right to see the world as it is; or dive into the world of killings, hypocrisy, and lies.
Dear friends, we are glad you took the side of good! You supported freedom of speech and free journalism in our country not only with words, but also with active actions. You helped those media workers who were left without any means of livelihood to survive, those who lost the opportunity to practice their favorite profession, you gave hope back to those who work under dangerous conditions, you saved their health and lives.
Your solidarity and your support are invaluable. We sincerely thank you for this!
Please accept our sincere congratulations on the New Year of 2023. Together with you, we believe in the power of our profession, in the power of solidarity and goodness. Peace and prosperity to you and your loved ones.
